Private Photoshoot / Engagement within the Botanical Building (up to 5 people, no catering)
Available from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM Monday – Friday
Micro-Event within the Botanical Building (up to 25 people)
Reception within the Botanical Building (25 to 200 people)
A striking space for dining, toasts, and celebrations surrounded by living collections.
Up to 4 hours including setup and teardown, Available from 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM Monday – Sunday
Indoor-outdoor Reception (200+ people)

Rental Details
What’s typically included (customize as needed):
- Reserved event time (including vendor load-in/load-out window)
- Venue staffing support during the event
- (2) Planning walk-throughs, including briefing on required guidelines to protect plant collections and historic features
- Coordination with Forever Balboa Park Staff to connect you to our approved vendors.
A 6 month lead time is currently required for all Receptions, and a 3 month lead time is needed for all micro-events and Private Photoshoots/Engagements.
For a quote, please complete the event inquiry form. To confirm your reservation, you will need to book a site visit, have a signed rental contract, and 50% deposit.

Is the venue accessible?
Yes. Accessibility improvements are part of the building’s revitalization.
Can the lawns in front of the Botanical Building be reserved?
Yes. The east and west lawn directly in front of the botanical building can be reserved individually.
Can we serve alcohol?
Alcohol may be permitted with required permits and licensed service, in compliance with City policies.
Can we take photos outside near the Lily Pond?
Yes, with guidelines to support public access and protect the site.
