Celebrating Latina voices and connection in the heart of San Diego’s crown jewel
Forever Balboa Park was honored to host our first Women’s History Tour in Spanish, with Magnolias USA, a foundation supporting the emotional wellness, leadership, and community engagement of Latina women in San Diego.
Led by the warm and knowledgeable Munira, alongside tour collaborator Dawn, this inaugural experience guided attendees through the rich legacy of women who shaped Balboa Park—and by extension, the cultural and civic life of San Diego.
“All the Magnolias could not be happier,” said Aideé, founder of Magnolias USA. “They took us by the hand, explaining the soul of this emblematic park. Thank you for being part of this beautiful experience.”
Through the lens of history and cultural pride, the tour sparked meaningful dialogue and a deeper sense of connection to the park. For many attendees, it was more than a walk through gardens and architecture—it was an opportunity to feel seen, represented, and inspired.

This tour is part of Forever Balboa Park’s commitment to expanding access and inclusivity in all we do.
We are proud to offer the Women’s History Tour in both English and Spanish upon request, and we look forward to continuing these vibrant community connections. If you’re interested in attending—or collaborating on future programming—please reach out.
